YATELEY

Husband-and-wife team Simone and James Brooks have trained with Phoenix Martial Arts for many years and also run the established Aldershot and Farnham clubs.

The Yateley class is led by Simone and provides a friendly, supportive women-only environment for women and girls aged 12 and over. Complete beginners are warmly welcomed, and no previous martial arts experience or particular level of fitness is required.

Simone began training with Phoenix in 2007, started teaching in 2010 and holds a 3rd Degree Black Sash in Kung Fu. She has also competed successfully in point fighting and light-continuous sparring, becoming a CIMAC Superleague champion.

James has trained with Phoenix since 1992 and began teaching his own classes in 2007. He holds a 4th Degree Black Sash in Kung Fu and a 1st Dan Black Belt in Kickboxing and is also a former CIMAC Superleague champion.

The Yateley lessons follow the Phoenix Kung Fu grading syllabus while incorporating elements of kickboxing, fitness, pad work, self-defence and sparring. Students are encouraged to progress at their own pace, improve their confidence and fitness, and develop practical martial arts skills in a welcoming and inclusive group.
