Ruth Nelson
Her love and dedication to the sport soon led to her making her appearance on the national and international competition circuit throughout 2006, and she continues to compete today, gaining many successes and an invaluable level of experience. Ruth continues to advance on her experience and training, by attending squad training sessions with Phoenix and also with the WAKO Great Britain team.
The dedication and fighting spirit is in the Nelson blood through a number of generations, as not only does Ruth’s young son train with Phoenix and actively participate on the fighting circuit, but her late father also actively participated in martial arts training. Ruth is also the first cousin to Azumah Nelson who was a successful professional boxer representing their family origin of Ghana during the 1980’s and 90’s.
Ruth teaches a highly successful ladies only kickboxing class, as well as assisting the Master Instructor teach children and mixed adults classes in Croydon, Wallington and Coulsdon.
Ruth is proud to be a Phoenix instructor and says, “…..to be a success, you must continue to learn, and be willing and able to pass your knowledge onto others that want to learn”.
