Gail Wright
Gail began training in the Martial Arts in 1988. She had achieved belts in Karate and Tae Kwon Do, before joining Phoenix Schools of Martial Arts in 1991, to train in Kung Fu and Kickboxing with Stephen Brooks. Within three months she had won her first two National titles, one of which was in a record time of 7 seconds.
Gail first competed in the ring at the N.A.K National Kickboxing Championships in 1995 and successfully defended her titles the following year. During a diverse fighting career, Gail Wright has won more than 120 National titles, Championship belts and trophies, at all of the fighting styles available on the Tournament circuit. She has demonstrated versatility and mental strength, which are the qualities which enhance the Martial Arts instruction which she delivers with great enthusiasm.
`I began training in the Martial Arts for self - defence and fitness, then I realised how enjoyable and beneficial the training is, and it is now an integral part of my life. I get great enjoyment from seeing my students progressing and growing in physical and mental confidence through their Martial Arts training.'
At Warminster club we enjoy varied training sessions, which suit those wishing to increase their fitness as well as the students who are focused on grading up to Black Belt. Training sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the individual student whatever their level of fitness. We are a very friendly club and we always welcome beginners aged 14 years and over.
Gail is assisted at Warminster club, by her husband John, who was recently promoted to Assistant Instructor by Master Instructor Stephen Brooks.
